Halving
Definition
A scheduled cut in Bitcoin mining rewards roughly every four years.
The halving is a programmed event that cuts the reward miners receive for new Bitcoin blocks in half about every four years, slowing the creation of new coins toward the 21 million cap. By tightening supply, halvings have historically preceded major price rallies.
