Capital Expenditure (CapEx)

Money spent to acquire or upgrade long-term physical assets.

Capital expenditures are investments in long-lived assets like property, plant, and equipment that support future operations. Unlike operating expenses, CapEx is capitalized and depreciated over time. Heavy CapEx is typical of manufacturing, telecom, and energy firms.
