Volume
Definition
The number of shares or contracts traded during a given period.
Volume is the total number of shares, contracts, or units of an asset traded within a specific time period. High volume confirms price trends and indicates strong market participation. Low volume during a price move suggests the move may be unreliable or easily reversed.
