Stress Test

Simulating extreme scenarios to gauge how a portfolio or bank holds up.

A stress test models how investments or institutions would perform under severe but plausible shocks, such as a market crash or recession. Regulators require banks to run them to ensure adequate capital, and investors use them to probe portfolio vulnerabilities.
