Financial Independence
Definition
Having enough income or assets to cover living costs without working.
Financial independence is the point where investment income and savings can fund your lifestyle indefinitely, making work optional. A common benchmark is accumulating roughly 25 times annual expenses. It is the central goal of the FIRE movement.
