Altcoin
Definition
Any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin.
Altcoin, short for alternative coin, refers to every cryptocurrency launched after Bitcoin. Ethereum is technically an altcoin, though it is often treated as a separate category. Altcoins range from serious platforms like Solana and Cardano to memecoins with no utility. Most altcoins are highly correlated with Bitcoin.
